Summer is coming to an end and it is probably the best season to enjoy Provence. The region offers so much more than great beaches ! This time, let’s focus on Provence gastronomy and in particular on Provence wines. Living in Provence helps you plan a great wine tour in Provence to discover great local producers and savoury wines.

The Provence wine route

350 winemarkers and wineries have gathered under the label « Route des vins de Provence » (Provence wine route) and open their doors to tourists and wine lovers for wine tasting sessions and sharing experience. Follow the roads between Nice and the Camargue region to discover hidden estates and beautiful wine cellars covering all the appellations of the Provence vineyards.

The Provence wine route is a great adventure but you can easily get lost between the hundreds of addresses which generally are hidden in small villages in the country-side. Some professionals have therefore organised guided wine tours. Join a group and relax !

Discover Provence winemakers

Provence offers a great diversity of wines and appellations. The main appellations being Côtes de Provence (try Château Deffends, a great wine producer in Var), Bandol (great rosé !) and Côteaux d’Aix en Provence. The main Châteaux are located in the Var region . Rosé represents half of the production of wine in Provence. Then comes red wines (1/3 of the total production) and finally white wines.
